Taking over this week is Zara Fernandez, a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Salesforce!
Zara graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Resource studies, with a Minor in Computer Science at the University of California Berkeley. After an internship at the National Environmental Research Scientific Computing Center, where she gained exposure to supercomputing systems like Edison and Hopper, Zara joined software company Salesforce as a Backend Software Engineer. We’ll leave it to Zara to share more stories about her fascinating job later this week!
Zara moved to the US from Quezon City with her family when she was 9 years old with only a small stuffed animal backpack. She still owns the backpack and often looks at it as a reminder that she once was a young girl who could barely speak English and dreamed big. Zara always knew that her curiosity and passion for learning would lead to great opportunities.
Over the past couple months, Zara has also probably cooked innumerable variations of chicken adobo and claims to have finally found the best recipe that even her partner approves of (Share nga!) Finally, she loves to play her ukulele and sing!
