Rose De Guzman

Joining us in these last few days of August is Dr. Rose De Guzman, currently a research fellow at the Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology department at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Rose graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of California Davis. She then took up her doctoral studies in Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Albany, graduating earlier this year. Some of her current research interests include maternal-infant neuro health, neurodevelopment, sex differences and stress among others.

Rose is also active in outreach, being the founder of the Women in Neuroscience Organization and a committee member of the Association of Filipino Scientists in America.

Some fun facts about Rose:

1. She went skydiving the day before her graduation in celebration of being the first college graduate in her family.
2. She co-founded, ran marketing operations and photography for an artist music management company
3. She has two adopted black cats, named Liam and Macie.
