Kirstie Bruce is a Materials Science PhD researcher, graduate teaching assistant and content ambassador from the University of Manchester. She is currently working on the heat treatment optimisation of electron beam welded reactor pressure vessel steel.

Jean Utzurrum is a Marine Biology Master’s student from Silliman University. Currently, she is a research assistant for mesophotic fishes research.

Flor Cobar is a Master’s student in Pharmaceutical Modelling at Uppsala University, Sweden. In her current degree, Flor applies theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced modelling techniques including computational chemistry, machine learning and bioinformatics to drug discovery, development and usage. 

Kirstene Gultian is a doctoral research fellow at Rowan University in New Jersey, USA studying Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. In her research, she develops hydrogel-based materials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, particularly for bone regeneration and guiding stem cell differentiation and behavior.

Christian Gloria is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Health at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. His latest research examines the mental health of Filipinos from Pampanga, where he investigates the factors that enable people to adapt, grow and thrive against chronic stress and adversity.

Krizelle Alcantara is a research assistant at the Center for Gene Therapy at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute in Ohio, USA where she works towards understanding her own disease – Neurofibromatosis – by developing a gene replacement therapy for NF2.

Matthew Go is a forensic anthropologist at the US Department of Defense’s Central Identification Laboratory. He is primarily engaged in the applications of anthropology and archaeology to medico-legal issues involving human skeletal remains.

Gracile Celine Roxas is a Science Research Specialist at the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. One of her ongoing projects involves establishing the chemical profile of the artworks of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo.

Aiko del Rosario is Master’s student in Marine Science at the University of the Philippines. Her current work is on producing ocean current maps of the Luzon Strait based high-frequency radar data.

Aldrin Gabuya is a resident astronomer of the Al Sadeem Astronomy Observatory in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He contributes sunspot count data, astrometry and photometry of variable stars, asteroids and comets and is also in charge of the observatory’s educational activities, including astrophotography, workshops and planetarium shows.

Romar Avila is a master’s student in physical chemistry under the Erasmus Mundus program titled Surface, Electro, Radiation, and Photo Chemistry. His current work involves thin film deposition of high entropy oxides, a class of materials which have the potential to be used for energy storage as supercapacitors or batteries.

Si Nicko Caluya ay isang mag-aaral sa antas doktorado (PhD) sa Interactive Media Design Laboratory (IMD Lab) ng Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) sa bansang Hapon. May kinalaman sa Augmented Reality at Virtual Reality ang kanyang mga proyekto, na may kaugnayan din sa pagkatutong interaktibo, pagdisenyo at pagbuo ng mga laro at aplikasyon, at computer graphics.

Chona Vince Cruz-Abeledo is an Associate Professor at De La Salle University’s Biology Department. She is a principal investigator at the DLSU’s Practical Genomics Laboratory, where she leads a team working on the validation of local practices using genetic markers and GIS technologies to maximize resource use in mangrove crab culture.

Florence Basubas is a Scientific Research and Business Development consultant at a stealth startup in Seoul, South Korea. She conducts scientific reviews and market research on the applications of the microbiome and helps develop project portfolios on the application of emerging technologies like AI, machine learning and blockchain to biomedicine.

Ea Kristine Clarisse Tulin is PhD student studying glycoproteins in the central nervous system at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.

John Paul Tosoc is a doctoral student in Biology from the Mindanao State University – Iiligan Institute of Technology. Paul has been trained in many cool techniques, including: nanoformulation, nanospectroscopy, cancer cell culture, high-performance liquid chromatography and plenty more!

Boaz Lee is a machine learning researcher at Facebook. His work currently focuses on the area of graph representation learning and temporal sequence modeling.

Shannen Recio is a research intern at Eerkens Anthropology Lab where she studies ancient diet, diseases, and forensics.

Cherrie Calderon is a chemist and environmental consultant! She is a registered chemist with 20 years of establishing and managing environmental laboratories.

Patricia Bravo is currently a Master’s student taking the Erasmus Mundus Nanomedicine for Drug Delivery Programme. She is working on cerium oxide nanoparticles that can dissolve clots in ischemic stroke patients.
