Meet Edward Pajarillo, neuroscientist and microbiologist
He is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, USA.
His research seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and manganese neurotoxicity. He is also currently developing pipelines for multi-omic analysis for the brain-gut-microbiota axis.
He shares about the set-up shown in this photo: “About to perform stereotaxic brain surgery and injection of adeno-associated virus in specific regions in the brain to induce gene deletions to better understand the effects of important genes in brain diseases using animal mice models.”
