Featured on January 31, 2021

Christian graduated with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where he is currently an MS student in Materials Science and Engineering.

A member of the Sustainable Electronic Materials Group, his research interests lie in the synthesis and characterization of advanced and multi-functional (nano)materials for environmental, electronic and energy applications.

On top of being a Master’s student, Christian also juggles other hats. For instance, he teaches materials engineering subjects at UP Diliman. At the same time, he also works as a research fellow for the Vibrational Energy Harvesters for Resilient Sensor Nodes project funded by CHED-PCARI.

As part of his work as a research fellow, Christian helped establish the UP Diliman Microfabrication Facility as well as performed research on materials processing and characterization for potential micro-electromechanical (MEMS) devices.

Outside of work, Christian is equally multi-talented. Not only does he enjoy badminton and hiking but he also taught himself Thai.

Let’s all give Christian a warm welcome to the growing Pinoy Scientists community!
