Paterno “Jowi” Miranda IV is a coastal engineer who is taking up his PhD jointly with Deltares and the University of Twente, Netherlands. His PhD research explores the modeling of mixed (sand-mud) sediments.

A geologist by training, Dr. Likha Minimo is a faculty member of the Science and Society Program (SSP) of the College of Science, University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. She teaches Science, Technology and Society (STS) and Disaster Risk Mitigation, Adaptation, and Preparedness Strategies (DRMAPS).

May Angelu Madarang is a research trainee at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology School at the University of Science and Technology. Her research deals primarily with device fabrication and testing, specializing in tunnel junction and solar cell fabrication.

Robert Aguilar is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Biological Sciences, Columbia University, United States of America and Vice President of GradMAP Philippines. He is currently studying the genetics involved in the nervous system development of C. elegans.

Kristine Jane Atienza is an analog astronaut and registered nutritionist-dietitian with the Space Generation Advisory Council. She has participated in a number of studies about how nutrition affects astronaut physiology and psychology for analog missions such as Asclepios, CHILL-ICE, and LunAres.

Rene Principe Jr. is an instructor at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, where they are also taking up their PhD in Physics. Their Master’s thesis gathered insights into post-disaster behavior using geospatial data analytics in Python to analyze nighttime lights.

Timothy James Cipriano is a geographer working as a researcher with AGHAM, taking on projects focused on the political ecology of coasts and rivers, disaster science, and environmental change, among others.

Dainty Clarice Rabang is a geoscientist working as the head of the Climate Resilient Development Section of the Palawan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. She spends her days analyzing geohazard maps and developing plans and projects to improve community resilience.

Joshua Agar is a wind engineer and assistant professor at the UP Diliman currently working on the Multi-Hazard Impact-Based Forecasting – Early Warning System (MHIBF-EWS) Project.

Mark Ivan Ugalino is a PhD researcher in Astronomy at the University of Maryland, College Park. For his current project, Mark is exploring how magnetic fields grow in Milky Way-type galaxies and investigating its effect on stellar formation, galaxy morphology and cosmic ray transport.

Mark Joseph Pasciolco is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. As both a biomolecular and licensed chemical engineer, Mac has focused his attention on developing anti-corrosion and anti-biofouling pipe coatings.

Felix Alejandro Camagay specializes in prosthetics and orthotics. He works as a biomedical engineering consultant for Lithe Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. (LitheOP) and is a project manager for the UERM NEOLIMB Center for Research on Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies on Mobility. For his thesis, he developed an estimation tool for peripheral nerve stimulation to be used in neuroprosthetic devices.

Dante Salvador is a medical doctor, epidemiologist, and health economist currently working as a postdoctoral research scientist at the University of Basel’s European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Switzerland. He conducts economic evaluation studies on clinical interventions and public health strategies.

Philip Martinez is a licensed Electronics Engineer and Senior Science Research Specialist at the Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST – ASTI).

Donatela Manlongat is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology. She also spends her time working as a student therapist at numerous clinics around California.

Paul Caesar Flores is a PhD student in Earth Science at the Yokohama National University. For his doctoral thesis, Paul is investigating the mechanism of slow earthquakes in the Nankai Trough.

Philip Cesar Flores is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy in Berlin, Germany. His research explored the quantum time of arrival operators, investigating the quantum violation of the weak equivalence principle and the tunneling time problem.

Jelaine Gan is a biologist taking up her PhD in Biology at Newcastle University in the UK. She has published a book entitled “Wild City: A Photographic Guide to Amphibians, Mammals, and Reptiles of Metro Manila”, which encourages Filipinos to explore and learn more about the biodiversity in our cities.

Isabel Martinez is a nutrition scientist who is currently studying her PhD in Nutrition, Dietetics and Food at Monash University, Australia. Her doctoral thesis revolves around exploring gut training as a preventive and management strategy for exercise-associated gastrointestinal symptoms.

Al-Ahmadgaid Asaad is a statistician and data scientist currently working as the manager for Advanced Analytics at Johnson & Johnson, where he leads a team of data scientists that deal with volume/demand forecasting and possess automation, among others..
