Fitz Gerald Silao is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Oxford, UK. His current research focuses on how lipid transfer at membrane contact sites mediates cell death and electron transport chain complexstability.

Dr. Erwin Don Racasa is a licensed chemist, environmental scientist, and Associate Professor at the School of Environmental Science and Management of the UPLB. He studied ground water from coastal fen peatlands.

Jaime Rodolfo “Jaro” Garcia III is a PhD researcher and student at Newcastle University in the UK. He integrates concepts of polymer chemistry, nanomaterials, and biotechnology to develop solutions to biological challenges.

Dr. Angel Bautista VII is the current Supervising Science Research Specialist and Section Head of the Nuclear Materials Research Section of the DOST-PNRI. His work focuses on analytical and isotope techniques for fields such as nuclear cycle research, geochronology, and environmental radioactivity, among others.

Juan Salvador “Duno” Dantis is a PhD candidate in Chemistry (Chemical Biology) and graduate teaching assistant/researcher at the University of California, Irvine, USA.

Alexis “Alex” Achacoso is a chemist and PhD student at the University of Debrecen, Hungary studying smart probes for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). He was awarded the Academic Achievement Award by the Philippine Embassy in Budapest, and the Medallion of Excellence by the University of Debrecen – Faculty of Science and Technology.

Rhowell N. Tiozon, Jr. PhD is an International Consultant at the International Rice Research Institute – Philippines. He graduated last year as Summa Cum Laude after defending his thesis on the genetic diversity of pigmented rice and its nutritional benefits.

Herdeline Ann Ardoña, PhD is a materials chemist that specializes in developing biomaterials, bioelectronics, and biosensors. With numerous publications and a patent under her belt, she heads the Ardoña Research Group where they develop macromolecular-based materials that serve as sensors and modulators for various biological processes.

Roberth Riggs Rondilla, a college instructor of Chemistry at Southern Luzon State University and a PhD student at the University of Strathclyde, UK currently taking up a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Cesar Miguel Fabro is a Masters student at the University Paris Saclay. For Cesar’s final semester under the program, he investigated how electrostatics influence hydrogen evolution catalysis in nickel porphyrins.

Jovale Vincent Tongco is a chemist who specializes in wood chemistry and forest biomaterials. He has worked on a variety of projects exploring the processing and potential uses of lignocellulosic biomass.

Princess Cabotaje is a PhD student in Chemistry specialising in Molecular Biomimetics at Uppsala University, Sweden. Her PhD project seeks to utilise the diversity of hydrogenase for energy applications.

Yumi Briones is a chemist, researcher, and CEO extraordinaire. She a researcher at the University of the Philippines and also the co-founder and CEO of Savon Cleaning Solutions.

Angelica Suarez is a PhD student taking up pharmaceutical chemistry at the National University of Singapore. Aica is undertaking the genome mining and functional studies of modifying enzymes found in certain natural product pathways.

Beatrice Maquilan is a multi-hyphenate chemistry undergraduate at the University of Tokyo and a science communicator. Her research interests include the development of sustainable materials for green energy and environmental preservation.

Kriza Calumba is an Assistant Professor in Food Science and Chemistry at the University of the Philippines Mindanao. Her current research interests focus on probiotics, beer, underutilized resources, and the development of a traceability system for tuna in the Davao region.

Mark Dennis Retrato is an Industrial PhD student in Analytical Chemistry at Uppsala University. For his doctoral research, he is now developing analytical methods for assessing the stability of lipid emulsions used for parenteral nutrition.

Searle Duay is a chemistry instructor at Adamson University. He teaches a variety of subjects including inorganic chemistry and biotechnology. His research interests include antimicrobial peptides, molecular dynamics simulations, peptide membrane interactions, biochemistry and biophysical chemistry.

Gracile Celine Roxas is a Science Research Specialist at the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. One of her ongoing projects involves establishing the chemical profile of the artworks of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo.

Romar Avila is a master’s student in physical chemistry under the Erasmus Mundus program titled Surface, Electro, Radiation, and Photo Chemistry. His current work involves thin film deposition of high entropy oxides, a class of materials which have the potential to be used for energy storage as supercapacitors or batteries.
