Through weekly takeovers on Instagram and Facebook, the platform helps develop their science communication skills, fosters connections with fellow scientists, and introduces new, proudly Pinoy role models to the next generation.

Meet the Team

Reina Reyes, PhD

Executive Director

Reina is a Filipina scientist, educator, and public speaker. She is an associate professor at the National Institute of Physics of the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she heads the Data and Computation Research Group. With her students, she pursues research in data-driven astrophysics—including gravitational-wave astronomy and cosmology, and computational physics—focusing on novel applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Kami Navarro

Managing Director for Communications

Kami is a professional science communicator and PhD candidate based in Sydney, Australia. Currently, she is investigating responsible research practices in health and medicine at the University of Sydney. She previously worked in scientific publishing and academia in Singapore and the Philippines, and is a regular speaker at international science meetings. Kami is also a member of the International Science Council's expert panel on the Public Value of Science. Her website is kaminavarro.com.

Anne Felize Padillo

Managing Director for Operations and Events

Anne is an aspiring scientist and science advocate. She is currently a Master's student and Teaching Associate at the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, UP Diliman, where she pursues her research interests in neuroimmunology. Her experiences include event and organizational management with the aim of promoting science appreciation among the youth.

Hillary Diane Andales

Managing Director for Pinoy Scientists Meet-up

Hillary is a Filipino science communicator, researcher, and physics graduate from MIT. She gained international recognition after winning the 2017 Breakthrough Junior Challenge for her video explaining the principle of relativity. Passionate about making science accessible, she creates educational content that simplifies complex scientific concepts. Hillary is also an advocate for women in STEM and continues to inspire young minds through her work in research, education, and public outreach. Her website is hillaryandales.com.

Gerson Lacdao

Managing Director for Technology

Gerson is a freelance web accessibility professional. He is the founder of GSL Web Solutions, a web design agency serving non-profits and small businesses; and Web Accessibility Philippines, a community that promotes and teaches inclusivity and accessibility in web design and development.
