We’re ending January on a high note Meet Anjerick Topacio, or Jerick for short, a civil engineer, PhD Candidate, and faculty member at the Lyceum of the Philippines University – Cavite.

Jerick graduated from De La Salle University – Dasmariñas with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2011, followed by a Master’s degree in the same discipline at Adamson University from 2016 to 2018 after working for some time in the field. Now, after a huge leap of faith back in 2019, Jerick is in his final year of his PhD journey at the Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan majoring in Geotechnical Engineering.

Beyond his PhD studies, Jerick sings, dances, loves taking photographs (albeit amateurishly), posts Tiktoks, loves the rain and the smell of it, laughs like a lion, but most importantly–Jerick is on a quest to ensure that the art of Civil Engineering will not be forgotten by new generations to come.

Some more random facts about Jerick:

  1. He is a morning person who wakes up at around 4 to 5 AM.
  2. If engaged in lab work, he would usually kill  dragons or monsters in  games.
  3. Où est mon café?

Let’s all give a warm Pinoy Scientists welcome to Jerick!
