To end February on a good note, this week we’re joined by science communicator Ingrid Espinosa.

Ingrid graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and a minor in Creative Writing from the Ateneo de Manila University. After graduating, she worked as a research associate and communication officer at EpiMetrics—a consulting services company dedicated to increasing health equity through research. She also worked as a freelance writer and project manager for institutions such as PhilHealth and science websites like FlipScience.

In 2021, Ingrid was chosen as a fully funded Chevening Scholar, enabling her to take up a Master in Science Communication at Imperial College London, UK. There, she graduated magna cum laude and received high merit marks for her dissertation on the history of science journalism in the Philippines.

Today, Ingrid is an intern at the Imperial College Policy Forum in London, England, where she writes and edits policy briefs as well as other content for policy engagement.

A few fun facts about Ingrid:

  1. She recently learned open water scuba diving!
  2. She loves improv and did it in Manila and London
  3. She’s a bit late to the TikTok party, so feel free to send her your favorite science/sci comm tiktoks!
