Meet Denxybel Montinola who is currently taking up a Master of Medical Physics at the University of Sydney, Australia!
Denxy graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Applied Physics from the University of San Carlos, Philippines, where he engineered a new bioplastic made of mango peels and seaweed. For his contributions to sustainable plastic alternatives, Denxy was featured by international media outlets including VICE and Scout Magazine.
After an internship stint at Taiwan’s prestigious Academia Sinica, he jetted off to his current institution. Currently, Denxy is investigating what happens when small-scale radiotherapy doses are deposited in our lungs.
Some fun facts about Denxy:
- His stress food is Jollibee! (Who can relate?)
- He’s been able to travel the world for free thanks to generous scholarships from his universities or the government.
- He has a high tolerance for alcohol but is not an alcoholic.
Let’s all say hi to Denxy as we ring in the first week of July!
