Happy Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day, Pinoy Scientists fam! There’s a lot of things to celebrate this week–like this week’s scientist, economics PhD student Albert Lamberte! If his name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s Lisa Lamberte‘s brother, proving that excellence does run in the family

Albert graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in hydraulics and water resources from De La Salle University Manila. After graduating, he worked as an engineer at the DCCD Engineering Corporation and Manila Water Company.

Albert then took up his Master’s in Economics at the University of the Philippines Diliman, with his thesis tackling the economy-wide impacts of water reallocation decision. Currently, he is taking up his PhD in economics at the Australian National University under the Australia Awards Scholarship.

Before embarking on his PhD, Albert was a lecturer at DLSU, handling subjects like Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and Contemporary Economic Development.

In case it wasn’t obvious from the family link, Albert comes from a family of academicians and researchers (Lisa is a molecular microbiologist). He has also been a classically trained pianist since the age of 5 and a classically trained flutist since he was 10. Albert is also a keen video game player, especially when it comes to Japanese role playing games.

Let’s all welcome Albert to the Pinoy Scientists family! ????
