Taking over this week is Camille Duran, a Master of Science in Forestry student from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)!
Camille graduated with a degree in Biology, major in Systematics from UPLB, with her thesis focusing on a taxonomic review of a genus of orb-weaver spiders known as Gasteracantha. She then commenced her Master of Science in Forestry – Forest Biological Sciences, minor in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology where she is also currently a Project Technical Assistant investigation arthropod diversity in the canopy and understory of Mt. Banahaw and Mt. Arayat.
Previously, Camille conducted arthropod surveys in caves In Leyte and CALABARZON, assessing their diversity to ensure sustainable ecotourism and biodiversity conservation. Beyond her fieldwork, Camille loves watching movies, dramas and documentaries. Interestingly, she rarely wears dark colours—preferring to wear white and pastel except when out on the field. Finally, she enjoys matcha and hojicha.
